About this project
BeetleWatch Victoria is not real.
There is no Community Threat Advisory Unit. There is no advisory, no register, no property under restriction, and nothing in the creek corridor. Every page on this site is fiction, written for a short film.
The site is part of the promotional campaign for an independent Australian short film. It is designed to look like a neglected government website from 1998 because that is the story it is telling. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government department, council, agency or emergency service, in Victoria or anywhere else.
If you found this from a poster or a sticker
Those are ours. They are advertising for a film, put up as part of the same story. They are not a public notice and they are not a warning about anything real.
Please don't go looking
The locations described on this site do not exist. We have deliberately not named a town, a suburb, a road or an address, and we would ask you not to try to identify one.
- Do not enter private property. Nothing on this site is an invitation to visit, trespass on, or search any real place.
- Do not contact anyone in connection with it. The names on this site are invented and belong to no one.
- Do not report anything to police or council on the basis of this site. It would waste the time of people who have real work to do.
We take this seriously.
The passcode
There is a passcode entry on the front page. It is part of the game - the code is hidden in the campaign for people who want to look for it. There is nothing behind it but more fiction, and nothing is lost by never finding it.
If something here worries you
Get in touch and we'll answer plainly and out of character. If you would rather this site didn't reference something, tell us and we'll change it.
If you are in Australia and something in your own life is not okay, Lifeline is 13 11 14, any hour of any day. That is a real number. It is the only real number on this website.
